Organ Backpack
In order to practice patterning plushies and bags, I made this organ backpack. I wanted to create a piece that would physically represent the way that people store their emotions within their bodies. This piece took a lot of patterning work as I worked to make the organs at a 1:1 scale to those within my own body.
Due to covid limiting my access to shop spaces, a lot of the more nuanced sewing needed to be done by hand. Making this piece increased my confidence in patternmaking for filled objects, and helped me to understand how to work with pockets as a size flexible element. I hope to continue working on plushie/stuffed objects in the future.
